Dear Motorcycle Enthusiast,
I am excited to let you know about a new ministry opportunity that is just beginning at Deer Park Baptist Church called the SC CAROLINA FAITH RIDERS. The SC Carolina Faith Riders (www.scfaithriders.org) is part of the Carolina Faith Riders (www.carolinafaithriders.com) which started in North Carolina. It is a ministry program within the South Carolina Baptist State Convention that encourages members of Southern Baptist Churches who are also motorcycle enthusiasts to use their love of motorcycles as a tool to become a “Great Commandment Christian, fulfill the Great Commission and glorify God.” The primary focus of Carolina Faith Riders is to reach out to those within the local community who do not know Jesus Christ and who do not attend church.
There are several SC Carolina Faith Riders Chapters here in the Charleston area. Each chapter is based in and overseen by their local church. Each chapter is to hold to the beliefs and practices of Southern Baptists. Chapters are not limited by the number of members, size or location of the sponsoring church. Members do not need to own or ride a motorcycle in order to be a part of the chapter. However, every member of the local chapter should be a member of or regularly attend a Southern Baptist church and profess Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
The Carolina Faith Riders ministry was neither developed to be in competition with any other motorcycle ministry nor does it intend to attract members away from these ministries. Our intentions are not to draw people away from the church which they may be attending but to work alongside fellow believers in order that we, as a Christian body, might reach the greatest number of people possible with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Currently, the Chapter here at Deer Park is in the very beginning stages of getting started which means that we are still learning as we move to the next step. However, I truly believe that God’s blessings will be upon our efforts if we continue to seek His guidance and will for this ministry as we work to bring more people into the Kingdom. The possibilities are endless on how this could impact this area for Jesus Christ.
